2. General notes
This website can be used without actively providing personal data. However, certain data is collected automatically and for technical reasons when you visit (see "Server log files"). I take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat it confidentially, in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
3. Hosting & server log files
This website is hosted by an external service provider (processor):
Namecheap, Inc.4600 East Washington Street, Suite 305
Phoenix, AZ 85034
United States
When you access the site, the hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits. This may include: browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the server request, and IP address.
This data is not merged with other data sources and is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR — a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and security of the website. Where a corresponding agreement exists, it is processed on behalf of the controller under Art. 28 GDPR.
4. Contacting me
If you contact me by email (for example via the address on the Contact page), the details you provide will be stored for the purpose of processing your enquiry and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries) or Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR (consent). This data is deleted once it is no longer required and there are no statutory retention obligations to the contrary.
5. SoundCloud (embedded audio, click-to-load)
On the Music page I embed an audio player from SoundCloud. The provider is:
SoundCloud Global Limited & Co. KG, Rheinsberger Str. 76/77, 10115 Berlin, Germany.The SoundCloud player does not load automatically. It only loads after you actively click "Load & play mix". Until you do, no connection to SoundCloud is established and no data is transferred to SoundCloud.
Once you click to load the player, your browser connects to SoundCloud's servers. This transmits data — including your IP address and information about your browser — to SoundCloud, and SoundCloud may set cookies. By clicking to load, you consent to this data transfer in accordance with Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time by not loading the player and not returning to the page. Data may be transferred to servers outside the EU. For details on SoundCloud's processing, see SoundCloud's privacy policy: soundcloud.com/pages/privacy.
6. External links & social profiles
This site links to external profiles (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram, SoundCloud) using ordinary text links. These links do not embed third-party content and do not transfer your data to those providers until you click a link and leave this site. Once you follow a link, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
7. Fonts
This site uses the typefaces Newsreader, Hanken Grotesk and Space Mono to display text consistently. These fonts are hosted locally on this website's own server (self-hosted) and are loaded directly from here. No connection to Google servers or any other third party is established for the purpose of loading fonts, and your IP address is not transmitted to any font provider.
8. Cookies & local storage
This website itself does not set tracking or advertising cookies. It uses your browser's local storage only to remember interface preferences (for example, whether you last viewed the "Event Marketing" or "Music Curation" view on the home page). This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to me or any third party. Cookies may additionally be set by SoundCloud if and when you choose to load the embedded player (see section 5).
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Information about your stored data (Art. 15 GDPR);
- Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR);
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR);
- Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR);
- Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR);
- Object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR);
- Withdraw consent at any time with future effect (Art. 7 (3) GDPR).
To exercise any of these rights, contact me at email.
10. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For Berlin, this is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit).
11. SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the "https://" in the address bar of your browser.
12. Updates
